You can send money overseas by transferring funds from your Japanese bank account to a Kyodai Remittance bank account, then completing your request in the KyodaiApp. The app walks you through each step, so you can confirm the amount, attach your deposit receipt, and submit your remittance in one place.
Before you start
- Make sure both you and your beneficiary are registered and approved in Kyodai Remittance.
- Make your bank transfer using the same name that is registered with Kyodai Remittance.
- Have your deposit receipt ready if you want to attach it (this helps speed up processing).
Step-by-step guide
- Open the KyodaiApp on your smartphone.
- On the home screen, tap the Bank Transfer card (“Transfer from KYODAI Bank account instantly”).
- Choose which bank you want to transfer with, for example Japan Post Bank or Mizuho Bank.
- Enter the amount deposited and select the currency.
- Optionally, attach your deposit receipt under Upload Document (Optional). You can Take photo or Upload from gallery. Accepted formats are PDF, JPEG, HEIC and PNG, up to 5MB.
- Tap Next.
- On the Create remittance screen, check the Deposit to account and the Beneficiary. Tap Change if you need to update either one.
- Tap Next.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN and tap Confirm.
- You’ll see a Deposit report confirming your request was sent. Your deposit will be processed once it’s confirmed.
Important notes
- Your bank may charge a transfer fee. Check with your bank before you send.
- Attaching your deposit receipt is optional, but it helps Kyodai confirm your payment more quickly.
- Always transfer using your registered name so your deposit can be matched to your account.
Processing times
Bank transfer remittances are processed during Japanese bank business hours:
- Japan Post Bank – 10:00 to 18:45 (except Japanese holidays)
- Other banks – 10:00 to 18:45 (except weekends and Japanese holidays)
