You can send money overseas by transferring funds from your Japanese bank account to a Kyodai Remittance bank account, then completing your request in the KyodaiApp. The app walks you through each step, so you can confirm the amount, attach your deposit receipt, and submit your remittance in one place.
If you don't use the app, you can also tell Kyodai Remittance about your transfer by email or phone.
Before you start
- Make sure both you and your beneficiary are registered and approved in Kyodai Remittance.
- Make your bank transfer using the same name that is registered with Kyodai Remittance.
- Have your deposit receipt ready if you want to attach it (this helps speed up processing).
Kyodai Remittance bank accounts
Transfer your money to one of these accounts. All accounts are ordinary accounts (futsu 普通), and the account holder name will appear as カ)ウニードス (UNIDOS), Kyodai Remittance's registered company name.
Step-by-step guide
- Open the KyodaiApp on your smartphone.
- On the home screen, tap Denshin furikomi (Bank transfer). Alternatively, tap + Top up and choose Denshin furikomi (Bank transfer).
- Choose the bank you used to make the transfer, such as Japan Post Bank or Mizuho Bank.
- Enter the amount you deposited.
- If you'd like, upload your deposit receipt under Upload document. You can take a photo or upload one from your gallery. Accepted file formats are PDF, JPEG, HEIC, and PNG. The maximum file size is 5 MB.
- Tap Next.
- On the Create remittance screen, check the deposit account and recipient details. Tap Change if you need to update either one.
- Tap Next.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN and tap Confirm.
- You'll see a Deposit report confirming that your request was submitted. We'll process your deposit once it's been confirmed.
Send money by email or phone
If you don't use the app, contact Kyodai Remittance after you've made your transfer and tell them:
- The amount you transferred
- The name of the beneficiary you want to send the money to
Contact Kyodai Remittance using your registered email address or registered phone number. Once Kyodai has verified your deposit, they'll process your remittance.
Important notes
- Your bank may charge a transfer fee. Check with your bank before you send.
- Attaching your deposit receipt is optional, but it helps Kyodai confirm your payment more quickly.
- Always transfer using your registered name so your deposit can be matched to your account.
- If you make the transfer but don't tell Kyodai Remittance the details, they may not be able to process your remittance.
