What is a Kyodai Smart Card?

The Kyodai Smart Card is a convenient way to deposit money directly to your balance in the Kyodai App using supported ATMs in Japan, including JP Bank ATM, Lawson Bank ATMs, and Seven Bank ATMs. With this card, you can top up your balance with just one ATM fee, then use the funds to send money to your recipients easily through the app.

How to request your Kyodai Smart Card

1. Open the Kyodai App on your smartphone.

2. Go to Settings and tap My profile.

3. Look for the option to request your Kyodai Smart Card.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your request.

The card request must be made from within your KyodaiApp — you cannot request it through email or at a branch. 
 

How you can use your Smart Card

Once you receive your Kyodai Smart Card:

• You can deposit money into your Kyodai balance at:

  • Seven Bank ATMs (about 28,000 locations)

  • Japan Post Bank ATMs (about 32,000 locations)

  • Lawson Bank ATMs (about 13,000 locations)

• After depositing, open your KyodaiApp and go to Send Money to choose recipients and complete your remittance.

How to deposit cash with your Ria Kyodai Card

You can deposit cash onto your Ria Kyodai Card at Lawson Bank, Seven Bank, and Japan Post Bank ATMs. Follow the steps for the ATM you're using.

Lawson Bank ATMs

1. Select your language.
2. Insert your card.
3. Select Deposit.
4. Enter the amount you want to deposit.
5. Check the amount, then select Confirm.
6. Check the transaction details, then select Confirm.
7. Take a photo of your cash.
8. Select Confirm.
9. Take your card.

Seven Bank ATMs

1. Insert your card.
2. Select ご入金 (deposit).
3. Select Confirm.
4. Enter the amount you want to deposit.
5. Check the amount, then select Confirm.
6. Check the transaction details.
7. Select Receipt.
8. Take your receipt and your card.

Japan Post Bank ATMs

1. Select your language.
2. Select Deposit.
3. Select Enter.
4. Insert your card.
5. Select Cards issued in Japan.
6. Read the information, then select Enter.
7. Check the information, then select Enter again to confirm.
8. Enter the amount you want to deposit.
9. Check the amount, then select Enter.
10. Take your card and your receipt.

Important things to know

• The Smart Card is only for topping up your KyodaiApp balance — it’s not a general debit or bank card.

• Only the cardholder can use the Smart Card.

• Your Kyodai App must be linked to your verified Kyodai Remittance account to request and use the card.

• ATM and remittance fees still apply according to the destination country and service terms.
